I often see nut butters mentioned in recipes and I have seen them for sale at the shops… But my question is how hard are they to actually make?
The answer – very simple!
I decided to give Almond Butter again since I had loads of Almonds in the cupboard.
Ingredients:
1 cup raw almonds
1 Tbsp. olive oil
Dash of Himalayan salt
Method:
Place all ingredients into a food processor, and blend.
And blend…
And blend…
And blend…
And blend some more… eventually you will need to start scraping down the sides of the food processor.
I must admit that I use a stick blender that has a food processor attachment – it is only small and not very powerful, but it did make the nut butter, but not before a bit of plastic melting around the rotator! All good though!
So, be warned, depending on your individual processor, the mixture might get a bit warm (as also will the processor). Be persistent though, butter will be created eventually 🙂
Enjoy spread on a banana for breaky, or if you eat toast, on some toast!
