Raw Food Cooking Classes

Layered Raspberry Cheesecake

Layered Raspberry Cheesecake

If it always busy prepping for a Raw Food Class – today was no exception… a kitchen tidy… shopping… ingredient preparations… nuts on to soak… seeds sprouting… and of course I love to have a cheesecake on the ready for my class to try at the end of the class – always a good way to finish.

Took me over 24 hours to complete this gorgeously fruity and not too heavy cheesecake and am sure it will be a winner.  It is based on a previously blogged cheesecake recipe Mixed Berry Cheesecake – the only variation is that I have layered the filling and topping.

If you decide to layer the cheesecake – only make half the filling at a time as you will need to allow time for the layers to set and you don’t want your extra filling setting between waiting times…

Give it a try – one of the easiest and most delicious cheesecakes I’ve made 🙂

With my first Just Desserts class coming up on 9th November I’m spending some time to tweak a few recipes and whiz up some newbies…

… how does this Deconstructed Raw Brownie look?

Based on a couple of previous recipes – I think this one has come out pretty good 🙂

Check out my previous recipes to put this one together… or come along to Just Desserts and get the latest version 🙂

My First Raw Food Cooking Class – The Basics Workshop.

Setting Up the Class

Setting Up the Class

YAY!  My First Raw Food Class was held yesterday in Melbourne – it was so much fun!  I enjoyed it thoroughly and the girls did too.  So much food – lots of laughs and eating and of course heaps of raw learning.

It was a packed 2 hr session with 8 recipes!

I showed the girls how to open Young Thai Coconuts, we made almond milk, green smoothies, raw dips, raw crackers, kale salad, chocolate mousse, raw chocolate and my VERY HOT Green Curry Soup.  I swapped curry powders and bought a different one from the Health Food Shop – I didn’t realise HOW HOT is actually was until the girls tried it and could not eat it because it was so hot –  never mind!

Everything went so well!

The girls munched on all the food we made in class and also some additional pre-prepared flaxseed crackers, pecan pate, mango cheesecake.  Everything we made was either eaten on the spot and what could not fit into bellies was taken home, much to my absolute delight.

There is nothing more I love than to send people home with food – even better if it is healthy!

I’d made up a few samplers of Pizza Flaxseed Crackers and Granola that they also took home.

We had so much fun talking about everything raw from sprouting to activating nuts, the importance of greens in the raw food diet and we even had some time to plant out some wheatgrass too!

Here are a few pics from the day and I hope to start releasing some You Tube videos soon too – so watch this space for further info.

Of course if you are interested in coming along to a Raw Food Class – the next one is this Sunday 28th July and then there is also one on Sunday 11th August.
