I am often guilty of snacking on nuts which are a great source of protein and good fats, but too many nuts will cause you to put on weight… so when peckish I have been trying to opt for seed based snacks instead… (that is when the Kale Chips have all gone)!
This is a tasty and delicious healthy snack which won’t put those KG’s on like nuts do.
Ingredients:
6 cups pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds (or combination of both), soaked for 4 – 6 hours. Rinse and drain.
1/3 cup tamari
1 Tbsp. agave
2 Tsp. minced garlic
1/4 Tsp. cayenne pepper
Method:
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and stir until all seeds are well coated.
Spread the seeds on lined dehydrator trays – approx. 2 cups per tray.
Dehydrate at 115 Degrees Fahrenheit for 18 – 24 hours or until crispy and crunchy.
Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
Enjoy whenever feeling snacky – I like to have a stash of these in my draw at work!
