Day 146 – Lemon Drop

Lemon Drop
Lemon Drop

Some Raw Foodies say no to any alcohol in their diet…

Others recommend only organic wines or alcohol that is processed in certain ways.  I have not quite got my head around the pros and cons but I tend to go with the sentiments of Dr Emoto (Japanese researcher who studies the effects of words, music, prayer etc… on the quality of water – amazing and fascinating) who said that a bit of sake is great for relaxing people and building relationships…  I agree…

So here is a raw food cocktail from Alissa Cohen – perfect for an afternoon in the sun or a balmy evening.  Zesty, fresh and will perky you right up!

Ingredients: … makes 2 drinks…

200ml sake

juice of 1 freshly squeezed lemon (a large one)

2 Tbsp. agave nectar

a little sparkling wine, optional

garnish with a slice of lemon

Method:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.  Add in the sake, lemon juice and agave and shake well.  Wipe the rim of a cocktail glass with lemon and dip rim in raw sugar (optional).  Strain the mixture into the glass, top with sparkling wine (if you like) and garnish with lemon juice.

Sip your afternoon away!
