Day 83 – Sprouted-Chia Bread

Tonight a recipe for a simple bread you can use in a sandwich or as the base for a Bruschetta.

Ingredients:

2 cups sprouted grain (I used spelt)
1/4 cup raw chia seeds
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tsp. sea salt
1/4 cup sweet onions (I used red onions)

Method:

In the food processor, process together sweet onions and sprouted grain until well blended.  Add salt, olive oil and chia seeds and process until a dough ball forms.

Stop processor and spread mixture out evenly over a covered dehydrator tray.  Dehydrate for 4 hours at 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Flip bread over and dehydrate a further 1 hour.  The bread should be dry to touch.  Avoid overdrying so it doesn’t become undesirably crunchy.

Bread is now ready to top!
