My son absolutely loves devouring Quelches and Smoozes. These are frozen juicy pops. The Quelches contain reconstituted fruit juice, preservatives and sulphites. The Smoozes are made from fresh coconut milk and fresh juice and contain natural preservatives. The Smoozes are quite expensive. When I say my son devours these frozen treats, I mean he’d have 3-4 Quelches at a time. I’m not really happy about it. So I’ve decided to make some homemade ones that only have goodness in them.
He usually loves a fresh juice if I make he one – so no reason why he is not going to love these.
After some digging around in the plastic containers cupboard, I managed to find some of those Tupperware icy pole moulds… Off we go!
Ingredients:
1/4 medium pineapple
1 lime
1 kiwi fruit
1 mango
1/2 cup young thai coconut water
1 tsp. agave nectar
Method:
Juice the pineapple, lime and kiwi (if your juicer can handle mango – juice that too).
In a blender blend the juice with the coconut water and agave (I also added in my mango flesh at this stage).
Pour juice mixture into moulds and freeze until solid 🙂
Can’t wait to see if he likes these instead of the Quelches 🙂

PS. He loved them – it was great to come home and see he demolished these instead of seeing a bunch of quelch wrappers left on the couch (and there were quelches in the fridge – he just chose these instead). 🙂
