
There is nothing quite like a good trail mix for munching on when camping… let me re-phrase that… there is nothing like a good raw food trail mix for munching on when camping 🙂
This takes a little prep ahead – but I reckon the healthy tasty treat is well worth it.
Ingredients:
4 cups almonds (soaked for at least 4 hours)
4 cups Tostadito Shells (I only had about 2)
1 cup dried mission figs (soaked to rehydrate)
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup raw honey
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1 Tbsp dried Italian herbs
dash of sea salt
dash of cayenne pepper
Method:
In a medium bowl , combine all ingredients and toss well to coat the ingredients in the marinade. Layer on a lined dehydrator tray. Dehydrate for 15 hours at 118 degrees Fahrenheit until mixture is crunchy but figs are still a little moist. Store in an airtight container indefinitely. Makes about 6-8 cups.
I am going to enjoy munching on this instead of BBQ shapes and muesli bars 🙂
