Hair Dresser Magazine Raw Food Challenge… recipe number 2…
It really was a tough mission to try and find a recipe in these magazines that could be considered healthy let alone raw!
Pages and pages of recipes loaded with salt, butter, cream, sugar, chocolate, condensed milk, cheese, cans of tinned vegetables and tinned fish… advertisements for vitamins and nutritional supplements… diet after diet…celebrity after celebrity in bikini’s and glamour outfits with not an inch of fat on them. My mission seemed futile as I flicked through pages of recipes for chocolate cream cakes, creamy pasta carbonara’s and crispy chicken wings but then…
FINALLY… 6 magazines later – amidst an article on Victoria Beckham and her Alkaline Diet – I found it – 1 actual official ‘Raw Food Recipe’.
It is not dissimilar to the Chocolate Pudding recipe I have previously posted.
I instantly recognised the familiar ingredients – here goes….
Trashy Mag recipe number 2!
Ingredients:
1 avocado
2 Tbsp. cacao powder
2 Tbsp. agave nectar
1 Tsp. coconut oil, melted
Method:
Blend all ingredients together in a blender.
The only complaint I have about this recipe is that this recipe will serve 1 maybe 2 people and that is not going to be enough because when you taste it you will want more.
Well actually I have a second complaint… because the amount of ingredients are so small, this is really really hard to blend. In fact, I would suggest a small stick blender or small food processor, or just mash with a potato masher in a bowl. There are no where near enough ingredients to do this well in a blender. Perhaps the recipe was in fact halved or quartered for the magazine.
It is a good recipe and it is very delicious – won’t last long in your fridge.
Serve with strawberries or raspberries.
YUM!
