Day 298 – Sunflower-Hemp Milk

Sunflower-Hemp Milk
Sunflower-Hemp Milk

I’m not sure I’ve made milk with seeds before – nuts yes but not sure about seeds… so why not try out this recipe.

This is a simple recipe, no nut bag required – just a blender!

Ingredients:

3 -4 cups filtered water

1/2 cup sunflower seeds, soaked for 4-12 hours, drained and rinsed

1/4 cup Hemp seeds*

1 Tsp. vanilla powder

pinch of sea salt

1 ripe banana

Method:

Blend together 1 cup of water, the hemp seeds and sunflowers seeds until smooth, add remaining ingredients and blend until creamy.

This milk will only last a few days in the fridge so I like to freeze my extra milk into ice cubes that I can add to smoothies 🙂

Enjoy!

* Please be aware that in Australia and New Zealand the packaging on Hemp Seeds clearly states that Hemp seeds are not being sold for human consumption.
